Debt Free Revolution writes about re-using plastic containers. I refill my water bottles again and again---I no longer buy packs of water, because they're just not environmentally friendly. Plus, bottled water is expensive---and is just tap water anyway!

Sasha at Consumerism Commentary wrote a wonderful post about paying more for certain things because it's the right thing to do. She calls it ethical consumerism.

I've started to ride my bicycle as a health alternative. I find that I save a great deal of money because of that.
Going back to basics, with less convenience means saving money and is better for the environment.
Junk mail waste is a huge problem for us all. There are a few more places that it's important to go and remove your name - particularly to get rid of the local advertisers.
I put together a Squidoo page with all the research and easy links. It's only 4 steps, all free, and will drastically reduce this junk mail, catalogs, pre-approved offers, etc.
